Sex Stories Hits 10k Users + Sub Rules & FAQ

Congratulations everyone on the sub hitting 10k users. I hope we will continue to see our numbers grow.

FAQ:

How come my story doesn’t show up? Usually, it is because you are new to the sub and/or your username is brand new. In other words, it gets caught in the spam filter. If your story gets caught in the spam filter, it is generally approved within 24 hours, so don’t panic. If your story still hasn’t shown up and it has been 24 hours, reread the rules and message the mods if you need further clarification.

How come I don’t see any stories? The sub has a mix of nsfw and SFW content. If you are not seeing the stories, it is because you are logged out. You can see the stories while logged out, if you confirm you are a least 18 by following this link: https://www.reddit.com/over18?dest=https://www.reddit.com/r/sexstories/

Current /R/SEXSTORIES Rules:

  • No Stories that involve people under 18 years old involved in sex acts. If you see one of these here please report them.

  • Tag Your Posts It has been a rule here for some time now, but people keep forgetting to include these. You can include up to three tags in your title. The most obvious one you want to include is the gender tag such as [MF] for a story where the action is between a male and a female, or [FF] where the action is between two females. For example, a story about a threesome could be [MFF], [FMM], [FFF] or [MMM] . I am flexible on the other tags, but if your story includes violent content, it needs to be tagged as such. If you are posting a sexually graphic story, please tag your post NSFW.

  • Stories should be in English only.

  • You have to be submitting a sex story or a writing tip/question. The name of the sub is sex stories not sex paragraphs. This isn’t the place to post short anecdotes. If you want to share a short anecdote in this sub, the appropriate place is in the comments section. A good general rule of thumb for self-posted sex stories is 500 words or more and sex stories published on a site/blog need to be 750 words or more.

  • Preferably, it is an original work authored by you. If it is not then you need to have the original author’s permission to post it unless you are directly linking to them. Please note r/sexstories is not a venue for thieves. We get tons of submissions from people that have constructed entire sites out of stolen stories. If you submit your site and it is an aggregate of stolen content, you will receive a permanent ban.

  • Phone sex sites, e-commerce sites and escort directories/sites are not appropriate places to post sex stories from. Hint – If your Reddit user name is a domain, you will be presumed to be a spammer.

  • You can now publish a link to your Amazon, Smashwords, or B&N Book here, but keep in mind Reddit’s rules for self-promotion apply. They currently say only 1 in 10 of your posts (reddit wide including comments) can be of a self-promotional nature. Reserve these posts for your free story days and use the tag [Free Until 9/30/15] Note the date 9/30/15 is just an example. You would put the actual date your free book period expires.

  • Absolutely no links that require the user to download the rest of the story. When this was allowed in the past we got inundated with malware links.

  • A good general rule of thumb is no more than one story from one domain/one person or one group of people in every 24 hour period.

  • Use paragraphs. If you lost your spacing when you pasted it into the Reddit box, the edit link will be under your self-post when you click on it. (click on the comments links to find it). You should always check your finished post after you make it to confirm it is readable.

  • No Bestiality Stories Fictional monsters like werewolves are fine, but stories with pets are not.

  • No solicitations to be contacted by email for hookups, sex, phone sex, or any other sexual services in posts. If there is an email address or other contact information in your self-post your post will be deleted.

  • If you threaten to harm a member of this community you will be banned forever.

  • If one of the moderators messages you or replies to one of your posts that you are breaking the rules a sure fire way to earn a permanent ban is to ignore this friendly advice.

I removed the rule on posts from free services like Blogspot and Pastebin not being allowed because that rule is now hard written into the sub’s automoderator rules. If you post from Blogspot, Pastebin, or Tumblr your posts will not show up in the sub.
